Description
The project involves the conversion of a former electric motor components factory into a complex comprising a detached house, a design studio and a gallery. At the heart of the complex, a large garden has been created, around which the two parts of the project are organised — on one side, the public and work areas; on the other, the house. The roof’s configuration has been preserved, with its structure extending over the central garden. The main interior spaces, namely the gallery, the studio and the living room, make the most of the double-height ceilings and the natural light streaming in through the roof. The design seeks to preserve the industrial atmosphere, combining it with warm materials such as wood and brick, which lend a domestic feel to the interior spaces. Adapted from Atelier Sérgio Rebelo
